On February 4, 2017 we photographed a destination winter elopement at The Whitestone Inn. The weather was beautiful, with sunny, blue skies and a gorgeous sunset at the end of the day. The grounds with woods, fields, and the Tennessee River made for a dramatic background.
Angela and Erick come from completely different backgrounds. Angela is from North Carolina and Erick is Costa Rican. They met around two years ago when Erick moved in next to Angela and they became neighbors. They hit it off and found that they love spending time together. They enjoy being outdoors, especially in the mountains, going to movies, spending time with family and friends, and going shopping. Angela and Erick like to get away, and love taking weekend trips, but even enjoy just the day trip to somewhere local.
Erick and Angela were spending the Thanksgiving weekend last year in Waynesville, North Carolina when Erick surprised Angela by proposing. They were celebrating one year together, and Erick gave Angela her gorgeous ring. They spent the weekend celebrating in the mountains. It was perfect, with lots of love and laughter.
When Angela and Erick started talking about getting married, they knew they wanted something different and decided it would be an intimate elopement wedding and they could basically go where they wanted. Erick knew that Angela loved Tennessee, so they started looking for the perfect spot in Tennessee to exchange their vows. They booked a weekend getaway to the Whitestone Country Inn, married, then left for Florida for a warmer honeymoon.
When we walked in and met Erick and Angela; him in the chapel and her downstairs finishing getting ready, we could immediately tell how crazy there were about each other. Angela is just a cute as can be! She is tiny, and spunky, and a doll. Erick looked at her with total admiration and love. You could just see and feel it when they were together. They were like teenagers in love playing with each other and whispering to each other so I could get their reactions. I love Angela peeking from behind Erick’s hat. As they took their vows and proclaimed their love for one another, Angela was teary. Erick wiped her cheek and never stopped smiling.
They took a carriage ride following there ceremony, where they cuddled and took selfies. They were drawn in by the grounds and views of Whitestone and wanted to get photos to keep with them and to send to family. (Erick even got a photo of me getting a photo of them. I didn’t share that one. LOL)
We absolutely enjoyed every second of Erick and Angela’s intimate destination elopement to The Whitestone Inn. The day was fun and so laid back. We got to spend our time focusing on Angela and Erick and letting them have fun being in love and being who they really are. We will hopefully be able to travel to North Carolina soon and get some more photos of the two of them. Thank you Angela and Erick for allowing us to be a part of your day!
